Loud whistle turbo

ok, so it sounds like there's not much chance of this old 6.5 sounding like that, but the whistle SS Force posted sounds great to me. Does the ATT sound as good? A while back, I had asked about the HX 35 or 40 vs the ATT and it sounded like the ATT was the better choice, although maybe I cannot have performance and the distinct whistle, both?

I was running a donated ATT from Paveltolz for a couple months and there is hardly a whistle at all compared the the hx. The most boost I could make with my fueling and setup was about 17psi and even then it sounded like the turbo was barely waking up. Performance wise my hx was great to spool down low and ran a ton better than the stock turbo. The truck seemed to run hard throughout the rpm range and didnt struggle in the top end. The tune I had was a special flash from Heath that Paul coined the "smoker" tune and it was a smoker alright. The ATT was a smokey slug down low for my setup (Smoker tune) but once I got the turbo to wake up there was no question the ATT would pull away from my hx equipped truck. Around town the hx was better for my 4.56 gears and 37'' tires but hands down the ATT was so much better on the freeway and towing.

The Prototype ATT I ran was more or less quiet. The Production ATT's have a jet engine like sound without the whistle. Specifically when the jet engines are given more throttle and start to spool up. This noise is during the wind down or wind up of the ATT and sometimes when getting just 1-2 PSI out of it. It's not a turbo you select if your goal is just turbo whistle.

I like whistle sounding turbos, and turbos are definately not my arena- but...
Whistle real quick while reading this... You pushed a lot of air through a tiny opening in your lips. Open up your mouth and breathe is far more productive. Seems to me more appropriate sized orifice doesn't whistle. It just moves the air through...
The reasoning for the turbo that whistles so loud, is it spools all the time. Even the LBZ makes boost at idle in gear(almost a pound). When they can make boost so easily, you can get better throttle response because you'renot waiting for air. Since it's a vgt, they can open up fairly good on the top end.

Hush you! Quit bring logic into my fun! Really I get it.
I remember getting pinwheels as a kid. Focused air on the edges to start then in the middle to maintain. A bit of engineering into silencer rings.

But can we add snarl95 's tail pipe whistle to a real turbo for harmonizing bird songs? If you put in backwards can it quite a real turbo whistle?

Ok I gotta stop now before I have to punch myself in the mouth, I know many of you want to hit me now...

Nothing like a Communist HOA of 100+ more landloards to tell you what to do or what you can or can not do with your property. What Freedom and tolerance for others? And as you found out you are target #2!

Yes noise can sound good till you have to take a long drive and it gets old to the point of fatigue.

A****ingmen! No HOAs for this man. They're a socialist concept. I'm well in front of the herd.

Friend in Eagle Idaho had the '03 Powerstroke 6.0 dual my with straight pipe and it whistled. He said it was great for preventing deer strikes as they were scared off long before he arrived. He wanted me to buy it, but just did not trust that engine.
