Looking for input on foglight/drl locations

your first rendition of the fog lights under the bumper trim looks better than removing the trim...JMHO

Just for quick comparison purposes:

GW, I must apologize for a poor choice of words. I wasn't trying to say anything about how well you may, or may not have photoshopped the lights. I was trying to say that I didn't like the location of the lights because they weren't aligned with the nostril holes.

However, since you shopped the lights into where I was suggesting, I must say I don't care for that either. The trim missing above the light, the bare bumper there just doesn't look right. For that location to work for me the top of the light would have to be up even with the top of the trim.

How about the flat space in the grill between the running lights and the bumper? I'm not sure if you have enough vertical space there, and that location would require four lights, two per side, for it to begin to look right.

No offense taken.

I thought about everything from LED running lights to fog lights in the location you suggest below the park lights, but I just can't get the image of the "Griswold's" station wagon out of my head when I think of that:

Edit:

Holy crap, even that bumper is beginning to look "familiar" now....

Made my selection:

Later on, there'll be removable lights mounted on the truck cap also:

On the truck cap because it's an easy mounting, no holes in the cab roof and easily removed. The light's will be on a quick release bar and a cannon plug connector. I've already go the lights, I've had 4 100W driving lights in storage for a while now.

Not in front of the grill to keep the airflow nice and fast/smooth through the rad. Removable because I don't always need them and the truck would be too tall to get into the garage with them. I need them because I often have to drive before sunup and after sunrise. Where i currently live, you need big burners when outside town limits on the highway.

Black as pitch and Moose everywhere...over 750 moose vehicle collisions last year alone...

That right there is why I'd give SERIOUS thought to a Buck Stop front setup (or similar) If I was in your situation.
I did $4k worth of damage to the front of my truck with a 250 Lb whitetail a few years ago. A moose would be a total.

There's no defense against moose except to avoid travel at night or see them a long way off.

A full grown bull can top 600 kgs (about 1300 lbs). Some have scaled closer to 700 here.

Rig pilots here have some of the biggest, heaviest, most horrendously stout protection on the front I've ever seen and even they don't survive a moose hit on the highway.

Hense, big freakin' lights on everything.

Heck, the locals even have cheap little runabout cars with anywhere from 2-6 Hella's hanging off the front end.

Nothing funnier than a Ford Taurus or Hyundai Accent with roof rack lights and a couple hanging off the front fascia.....until you see the highway road signs on the way out of town that tells you how many moose collisions there has been so far this year....

Gawd, I freakin' hate it here......at least Comox wasn't in the middle of nowhere with wildlife actively trying to F up your chi.....

I'll second that about the moose totalling even with an extra stout bumper. Big bulls up here have been known to go over 2k but aside from them were probably about the same

I have bought a set of Rigid Dually Lights that produce 1k lumans, My son bought a 20" set that is bright as blazes but for 600 bucks I would rather spend that on Train Horns

Little late since you already mounted yours, but you can kind of see my Hella 500s mounted low in front of the air dam on my Sub. I can get a straight on shot later if anyone wants it.
