Lift Pump Control Harness

Glad you got it fixed.

I had called Kennedy when I was facing an OPS issue and was looking at a plug/play harness from him. Either he told me on the phone, or I read it on his website, but he doesn't really support the harness, so I took that to mean if I had problems, I was not welcome to call and ask - much the reason I didn't buy. I'm not beating on him or his harness, but this was just my experience. If I wasn't going to get any support, then I might as well figure it out on my own or ask around. This site is full of guys that love to help, just because they're good fellers!

I did a little write-up on what I did on my '95:

Leroy's looks to be top quality and would save a lot of time and headache.

Leroy, I didn't see anything in the video that shows where the harness plugs into the OPS. Did I miss it?

Thanks for sharing. I should have got off my lazy butt and made my own. But, I really like all the options the Kennedy one has. I have now spent too much money on this one to just yank it off and let it collect dust on the shelf. I will keep messing with it till I get it like I want.

I need to get my Leroy harness installed, hopefully this week before i haul a load to California. New OPS and LP, and the harness, so I should be good to go for a long time.

Dieselcash, to ensure the bolts dont ground, can you wrap the shank with electrical tape? then that, combined with the washers should fully insulate it, correct?

Also, I forgot to ask, is it recommended to ever change the LP relay under the little plastic cover? what load does it acutally carrry? I think I have a new one, but unfortunately it isnt made in USA, so I am thinking of keeping the original one.

Yes, I do still have to worry about the inside ear portion touching the bolt. If it is, it is not enough to crank over the pump. I will have to fix that head ache when it happens or becomes a problem.

I started installing my kennedy harness (that has been sitting on the shelf for nearly a year) today. I stuck some Teflon tape around the bolts, used one reg washer, one rubber washer under it (really wide one, way way thicker than the regular sized rubber washers), then the walbro, then a sheet of corrugated plastic (just like the corrugated cardboard but made out of plastic) that is about half an inch taller and wider than the pump, and then the frame.

I was only able to mount the pump with the grounding resistance before dark, I will do the wiring tomorrow morning.

Which fuse did you guys tap into for your trigger (94 doesnt have fuses under the hood like my 95 does, unless someone wants to tell me where they're hiding :p ) and did you get your constant power from the battery or a different source?
Thx

Your '95 should have a fuse bank on the driver side fender well. Two fused lugs on the back side of this for your constant power.
