Lift pump - choices ?

Walbro's "life" spec at >18,000 hrs seems a long run-time if it's realistic.

Seeing that you've been successfully running the 10 micron filter pre-lift pump for some time, I picked one up which I'll swap in place of my current 30 micron. If the additional fuel volume per solenoid stroke is the cause of the increased pulsation, it could be the added restriction will rein in the Walbro some.

So i think its time for a new lift pump for my truck. Mine looks original, and I can barely hear it (dont think i even CAN hear it) like i used to before. Used to make an audible buzzing pre-start, now it doesnt seem like it does at all. Truck also doesnt start right up like it used to, takes a second more on the starter to fire.

Ive heard that the 93 lift pumps are the best, but I can't remember why. Why is this??

Shouldn't be too hard of a job to do in the driveway, do you think ? Ive turned a wrench before but im no diesel mechanic.

Thanks guys

Perhaps the first thing to do is to put a pressure gauge on the fuel bleed line so you know what kind of pressure you're getting...
