Lift pump bypass w/pre LP filter

I beg to differ with that conclusion Buddy, my Walbro is not challenged by a properly sized prefilter, Matt you took a ride did it feel like a challenged truck truck to you?

Depending on how the vanes in the pump stop the Cummins pump is not flow on fail, which is one of the things that kills their HP pumps.

You dont know what that DS4 is truly capable of yet :D

Who is to say what is proper sized filter, is 30 micron, or 10 micron, kind of a preference thing. Mine is supposedly 12 micron. And maintaining 5psi at WOT might seem like a good thing, but if youre looking for an upgrade, lets find a real performance option that isnt $300.

They came out with a new lift pump for the Cummins that looks like ours

Don't be so sure you aren't only one peaking & tweaking things :D

I'm not as far along as I would have been had it not been for the break in R&D I had to take due to the old girl being my daily driver & commuting MS/GA last 2 years, got a couple of irons in the fire I'll be working with once I put the new engine in it.

It isn't the micron rating it is the flow restriction I worked it out with tech dept at Racor for what I'm doing the 60 gph 30 micron gives me the protection and lowest flow restriction

Never used it but if not flow on fail you'll need to rig some sort of bypass routine what type of pump is it internally, how does it pump, gears, vanes or impulse piston like the OEM

I have one here. Its flow on fail, vane type. I actualy am going to use it on the WVO side. I get a pressure drop at the selector valve it Should give me atleast 10 PSI at IP.
