I walked out of college this afternoon only to find fuel everywhere under my truck and when I looked under the hood fuel was all around the Injection pump. So my question is what is this? Its on the IP and its leaking fuel in the corner where it meets the IP (circled in red). More importantly, how do i fix it? :mad2:

You replace it with a new and improved one. It's probably leaking internally and the fuel just appears to be coming from the base.

It's the fuel shut off sol. Just unplug it and use an allen wrench to unscrew it. The new ones have a 6 point bolt head on the top. Napa may carry them, Stanadyne shops will, some site vendors here might have them. I've also seen them on ebay.

If you cant get your hands on one, you can just find a plug for the hole, with an O-ring or something. Until your new one is available. Youll get a code, but will run fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if he just plugs the hole how will he shut it off............

The injection is electronic, as soon as the key is shut off, the PCM shuts down and stops sending inject signal to PMD. Additionally PMD is run off the IGN switch, so the fuel solenoid in the electronic injection pump isnt going to open up unless there is IGN power.

So I got a new one in yesterday and all is well now. The only problem I had was the allen key hole was stripping so I had to use a pipe wrench to get the old one off. Thanks a lot guys for the help.
