So this sort of along the same lines as millertilldeath's thread about smoke at idle, but I am taking it a step further and didnt want to hijack his thread...

So I have an 06 LBZ and usually notice some smoke at night passing by the headlights if there is a breeze to carry it that direction.

After reading this thread, I decided to use my PPE to check my injector balance rates.
Im sort of confused from what I'm reading. Bare with me, Im fairly new to this....

My readings... (Taken @ idle in Park with Park Brake on. Also have the PPE 90HP tune loaded -- Not sure if that matters)
Inj 1 Bal -0.1mm
Inj 2 Bal -0.2mm
Inj 3 Bal -0.7mm
Inj 4 Bal -0.3mm
Inj 5 Bal -1.0mm
Inj 6 Bal 0.4mm
Inj 7 Bal 1.7mm
Inj 8 Bal 0.2mm

Again, I have no idea what Im looking at but noticed that I could look at them using the PPE.
Can anyone help me out with what Im looking at and/or weather my readings are ok, or way off or ???

looks to me that #5,7 are off more than + -.5 %.....that what could be causing the smoke...just a thought!!

Um I think you are fine -+.5 should be fine. LBZ's don't have injector problems. They all seem to smoke a little at idle, the trucks are runnin a tad rich from fuel a bit heavier, than an LB7 LLY

the readings show how much fuel is to used to run that cylinder correctly . The minus shows less fuel used to fire cylinder and the other is adding. Put truck in drive with ac on and see how rates look then
