Key points to look at on 99 F450 Stroker

This is on a 200K+ newspaper delivery truck, 1999 NBS F350 Stroker 6 spd ZF 2wd. RC, XL LWB about 180 inches? (16ft box)
Besides crappy factory airbox, what needs to be inspected before purchase? already know front end is loose too.

It has already been test driven by me, and the ZF6 flat rows throught the gears nicely. crisp & smooth. Engine responds quick and pulls hard (for an fing van box truck anyway)
I am a GM person, and really don't care for Fords, but my Old man was thinking about buying it.

Also, roughly what is HP/Torque ratings, gear ratios available, etc and is this intercooled?

Any upgrades reccomended for durability? want good and cheap. fast is a non-issue just gotta get there w/o dying. :)
Any input appreciated, thanks!

is it an early or late 99? Yes it is intercooled. There are some sizable difference between the 2 in the injectors and turbo areas.

With the milage on the truck I would reccomend having the HPOP ( High Pressure Oil Pump ) tested for peak and holding pressure. The 7.3 is very durable as is the 6 speed in that year.

I would highly reccomend DP tuner for the chip and a HPX line to equilize the pressure read by the ICP.

Other durability items would be a regulated return and a fuel bowl delete and a intank prepump kit. The goel is to get rid of ALL of the quick disconnects in the fuel system. The are prone to sucking air into the system which can shorten injector life. The regulated return will make a big loop of the fuel system instead of the fuel running into a dead end in the back of the heads. This will allow you to also adjust fuel pressure to the desired 65PSI that the trucks run best at. Thus the truck will also become much quieter and more responsive.

If you need any advice please let me know. We sell parts for all make but specialize in the PSDs

Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gm Guy?

Not Me.. my old man. He was raised ford. me witnessing us always being let down by ford(73 390 v8, 93 taurus, etc) made me look at, purchase a product of, and stay w/ GM

only reason for thinking about it is the price 3,900 bucks.

I told dad, go buy a C3500HD and be done with it. (he hates IFS, closer the design is to a semi, the more it is liked) he is backing off, but if price drops again, he might go with it.
IMHO, the airbox, HEUI system, and fact. clutch all scare me.
