JP 8 in a Duramax

JP 8 was specified in 1990 by the U.S. government as a replacement for government diesel fueled vehicles. I can't see why it would be a problem...

I would mix it at about 150-200:1 with 2 stroke oil just to be safe if it was mine. I've run Jet A-1 in my BURB before, but I mixed it with 2 stroke oil to be safe as it is a VERY dry fuel.

I got a half tank of JP8 from the local truck stop where the Air Force gets fuel. That stuff is crap. My pick up smoked at idle and the exhaust had the smell of more of a solvent burning. When the outside temps were low it had the smell of the jets at the air port. But when it warmed up outside and the operating temp of the pick up, you could smell the solvent smell. I had very low MPG and poor performance.
