Ive got my Kojo tune.. Whats next?

I just put a kojo tow tune(bought used) in my 98,the tune was done for an ATT but i still got the GM8 turbo on it(with turbo master)
Stock inj set to 2300 psi,stock LP,FTB.
This thing hums man, lots of get go,no smoke.
People are saying the GM8 has turbo lag, wonder were that is, cause my boost is instantly to the max when i stomp on it and it stays there till i ease of on the go pedal.

Glad you like that ecm. I wasn't going to get any use out of. I don't know of any lag with the gmx, but once you change to ANY other free flowing turbo you will be amazed. The low end power it frees up is cray. I just got my second Heath reflash. I like this one better then the last but I think there is room for more improvement.

What injectors do you run with the att? Stock our high performance? Heath says the hp injectors make high egt for towing. I wonder if that would be the case with the att and hp injectors?

The HO injectors may be a problem if you are running the stock gmx turbo by itself, but with an inner-cooler you won't have a problem. gmc1999 ran his heath tune with marine injectors, inner-cooler, and stock gm8 towing a 10k trailer with no problems.

Another option that won't cause the marine injectors to cause high egt's is to swap the gmx turbo for the ATT and there won't be any issues with high egt's. If you experience high egt's with this setup then there are other problems.

That was my plan was ATT, heath HO injectors and possibly IC. Do you think I would get someting extra from HO inj in this setup over stock inj? Are the Heath HO injectors marine injectors?

Yes you will get more out of the setup w/ the HO injectors. HO injectors are the same as marine's.

There is nothing special about heath injectors or any of his other products for that matter. I have still yet to hear of a truck with his cam on the road. Not saying his products aren't good or that they don't work, I just don't agree with the price tag.

Yeah, the price tag is a little upsetting from heath. I am just running rebuilt stock injectors set to 2300psi pop pressure with great success for 1/2 the price

That's your right, Tanner. What you get for the price tag is quality parts, warranty you can count on, and support before and after. You can get those things in a few other places around here... From Dennis, from Leroy, from Bruce, to name a few.

OR, you can save some cash, buy from ebay, from less-than-reputable dealers, or from others without honour, and you get what you get. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

We all know what prices look like, and we all make the choice to pay more for more or less for less. Doesn't make any of us wrong or right, or give us the right to rant about the prices people charge.

personally, I hope everybody's choices work out well for them. It's a Canuck thing.

I don't buy ebay parts unless it's a known dealer.

I like what I get from Leroy, if he had tuning I'd be all over it and I would bet he could get it done for alot less than heath.

I am the same way about my injectors, I send them to a reputable shop known for idi parts. I've mentioned to the owner we could use another vendor.

as always, my suggestion is to support our vendors... kojo and heath have been here for us, and I have faith they will stand behind their products.

I also know that Dennis and a few others are working on tuning, and it will be very well done and affordable. And I trust them.

Stock. I personally can't get past the fact that the IP controls how much fuel is injected via the tune, not the size of the orfis. On a common rail yes, IdI not so much. I have a pop tester and have HO nozzles and tested both. The stock injector has a nice mist of atomized fuel. The HO's give a more condensed stream. We all know atomized fuel burns better.

Well. I found out today that if Im on a hill and I hit tc lockup wot my boost spikes to 17psi for a second. It sustains about 14-15psi. How bad is this setup. Can I run it like this If I keep egt's down?

I would have it max out at 12psi tops. After that it just turns into a heat pump and is out of its efficiency range. The exhaust housing is much too small for the 6.5 and puts loads of exhaust back pressure on the motor.

I noticed that price also on his site and that made me excited cause thats in my price range, well guess what. Heath jacked the price up another $200. Now its only gonna be longer till I get a tuned ecm. Like someone else mentioned, Heaths prices are way over the top. Is his parts made of gold or what? Do they come with a mail order bride or something? lol

You see the prices, Jorge... Heath charges what he charges. Same with everyone else. That's the American way.

As long as his prices are in line with his competitors - and they are, as you can see - then the choice to buy from him or somebody else is up to you.

But complaining that his prices are 'way over the top' doesn't seem to be an accurate statement.
