It runs! (and some questions...)

Well that really sucks

Sure does!!

Taking the heads off the 'bad' engine that had a broken crank to the shop tomorrow. Going to get them tested/reworked so that when I pull it apart, I have them ready.

Good news is... i just had most of it apart.... should go easy!!

So the head from the 'bad' engine are off to the shop.... going to get them pressure tested, and rebuilt.

Keep your fingers crossed that they are good!

Man, I cant catch a break.... both heads are cracked... one beyond use.

I am leaning towards 2 new SSdiesel heads.....

Understood..... but I am getting one SS head for free.... and the other I dont have to pay shipping for as my dad is in buffalo today....

I also used clearwater. All shipped to my door brand new castings (not reman) for 600 or so. Def. reccomended, 5k later im still running good. Whatever makes you feel better, if you can get the others for cheaper.

Okay while you are waiting for new ones to arrive, pull the others off the engine, inspect gaskets as you remove them to see where H2O was leaking, get a good straight edge and make sure block is still true it should not have issue, but it may, you need to check, clean any residue off the block left by removed gaskets, check cylinder bores while you have the top off, drain the oil pan check for water in oil

We shall see how I can do it... I dont really have a place to do it like that. It has been banned from spending any more time inside a the plant....
