Is my truck a lightweight?

7000 w/ full tank. Only real weight added would be the larger tires and wheels...hardly worth mentioning except they look good.

The scale I was at may have been off, I won't be able to check again
for a week or two, but there seems to be a lot of fluctuation in weight
on these trucks - got 1500s weighing more than 2500s, etc........
Not even counting the service trucks and dualies

We have a scale at the college, and i weight my vehicles all the time. My truck weights 6400 most of the year.... Except in the winter with the plow and 600 lbs of sand its almost 8000... My mustang barely breaks 3000

6700# on a full 34 gal tank. Mine's a K2500HD (4x4), E-Cab L-Box
I wonder what the diff is between 2500 and 2500HD?
Do you have 8 lugs and full floating axles?

Yea, I think that FF axles would make the difference.
The semi floater 14 bolt is shared by both the 6 bolt and 8 bolt 3/4 tons.

I have FF - any other 2500,heavy duty, long bed, extended cab, fairly empty,
with a full 34 gallon fuel tank, should weigh fairly close to mine,
unless it's 4 wheel drive, then it should be a few hundred heavier.
I have aluminum rims, that maybe shaved off 100 pounds.

All this talk got me wantign to shed weight... Between a little housecleaning, and shopvacing a ton of 'guck' off my rear fuel tank, I'm down to 8980!!! Whahoo!

Those new tires are going to add some #'s Maybe you should get a carbon fiber hood, might get down to 8960):h

when my 6.5 had clutch issues, i had it towed home. the deck truck was 95 five speed 6.5
I was scared watching the guy pull the corner into my driveway. my truck was causing his to lean far enough over that i thought it would roll. i am going to guess GCVW was well over 17,000 lbs

I guess I need to put mine on a diet. In fighting trim it's about 9100. That's with a toolbox full of chains and junk, a backrack, plowframe, receiver hitch with a solid tri-ball, some more junk in the ex-cab and a 50 lb Golden Retriever.

Last time I scaled it I bought 1.7 ton of mix and weighed 12,500, with no plow or sander. It's even fatter with the tailgate sander and the Blizzard 810 on it. Weighing about 14k it still pulled out on the highway and got up to speed pretty strong. The weight doesn't slow it down much, probably because it's so not fast to begin with.

Ditch the GR and get a pug!

I think our trucks are twins. I bet the vin #'s are close.
