Is it time for a new Accelerator Pedal Assembly? Inquiring minds want to know...

Hmm. I downloaded a copy of GMTDBasic, and ordered and received an interface cable. Hooked it all up to the Tahoe, and set the diagnostic display to the three accelerator pedal readings plus what the ECM thinks the throttle position is.

Everything appears normal. Position indicator varies from .75 to 3+volts at full throttle, position indicator 2 and 3 are pretty closely matched, starting at around 4.5 volts and dropping to close to 1 volt at full throttle.

When I have the Tahoe with the ignition key in the 'on' position but not running, the throttle position appears to act normally, and all the sensors appear to be normal (although I don't know what the ECM is expecting to see from the sensors, the readings seem to be logical... they move linearly when you depress the pedal, and the throttle % indicator appears correct).

I will note that I took the connector off at the APPS, applied DeOxIt spray to the female end, and wiped the connector several times before putting everything back together.

My experience has been that electronics problems are typically due to bad connectors or oxidized connectors. I suppose I should have hooked up the diagnostic gear before I did the connector servicing. My bad.

At any rate, I cannot reproduce any sensor problems.

Does anyone have more specific information on what the ECM should be seeing?

Thanks,

Rob :)
