install air conditioner

i have a 1998 gmc3500hd dump truck manual trans. 6.5. need ideas on intalling an air conditioner (truck came without one). junk yard swap or after market? has anyone done ajunk yard swap. thanks for any info.

Aftermarket is probably easier. Try Red Dot. I got a brand new NOS MArk Iv underdash unit I for my CUCV. 40$ at the swap meet. A steal.

Red Dot make make a system that uses exsiting ductwork. I'm sure stuff could be swapped from a Truck with it but I personally have never done it on NBS. I have done it on OBS and it was quite a job.

thanks for the info., i found out that riding around on dirt roads, the sound of the tail gate banging around attracks a certain class of women (kinda like a moose call or ice cream truk) do you think the one on top of cab with the proper restrictor plate over the filter could double as a shower?(take a bath fatty im taking you to my house) ...just thinking out loud.

gen.2 vintage air looks like the one. acesneights1 do you live close to new haven ct? we are kinda in the same type of bus. im 25 miles south of new haven getting ready to pump 4,578,000 gal. of #6 oil to a ship anchored off riverhead ny platform.
