I've read posts with thousands of opinions on injectors. I just want to know if the Bosch Injectors sold by RockAuto are going to be ok? I know they're made in India. I assume you can't get German made Bosch injectors anymore. So were past that. Just want to know if these Bosch injectors are good, or do I have to have them tested after buying them?

Seems like most people are still going through rockauto for them. Its always a good idea to have them pop tested and set at the same pop pressure.

I got mine rebuilt's from a local Diesel shop. Sent back my cores when I was done.

If one's in your area, do you trust their work, is their cost reasonable?

My first set I did 140k were rebuilts I got from dieselpro over at the other place. I have tried a couple of times to get him to join us but no dice. My 2nd set I just did at about 220k 6 months ago. They were rebuilts that I did at my local shop. I did the manager a favor and she let me rebuild and use their equipment. My tips were marine tips that I got right after I got my rebuilts from dieselpro. He told me about a vendor on ebay that had some german built bosch tips for $99 so I bought them and held onto them till I needed them.

Thanks for the responses. Warwagon here sent me a pm with a recommended rebuilder who will do up a set with German Bosch Nozzles. He's building a set now and I mailed the cores to him. Per some posts here, I requested the pop pressure be set at 2300 psi.

I also have a builder that uses only Bosch Nozzle and they do a major 6.2 boat engine manufacturers work. :) pm me if you have not committed. And yes 2300 seems to be the best pop pressure so far.

Thanks Slim, but already committed. Guy was recommended by WarWagon and he's located in MN. He just e-mailed saying he got my cores today and that he finished the injectors all pop tested at 2300 psi. He said my cores weren't in bad condition and had seen far worse. All tested at 1600 to 1700 psi and only one had a slight leak just prior to pop pressure. I think those came out of my son's '95 after 150K miles.

BTW I just ordered FTB Stainless 2.0 from Walking J. Is he still filling orders?

Ted's engine have rebuilt military sets.

I will tell you more when I have them installed...
but it will be around late march only, once the engine+injectors arrive after crossing pacific by ship.

I have see his injectors on ebay....did you get them installed yet?

No, not yet. I have a pop tester but haven't even get the time to test them: really too busy.

I'll try to take some days off by mid-june to install my Ted's engine and the injectors, it's a real pity to have this Optimizer 6500 sitting in the crate, but really, I'm too busy...

I promise I will post once done.

just curious how long it took to get your engine. probably gives new meaning to slow boat

Usually it takes about 4 to 5 weeks to have the engine unloaded at Sydney - Australia. Then, it generally waits 4to 6 days before being reloaded in a container to Noumea - New caledonia.

So, basically, once the vessel leaves L.A CA port, I know can have the engine delivered to the garage in an average 2 months...

Dare we ask what the shipping costs were?

Did you install them yet or test them?

I just picked up a set from Ted's..opened them up to see the nozzle they rebuild them with, and there were no markings on it...so I guess there using no name nozzle's...
