hi guys ,just joined up,hoping some one can point me in the right direction.
I have a 98 6.5 pick up its got a 4l80 tranny, long story short ,love the truck to death but can't put up with the electronic injector pump any longer ,so I fitted a manual pump runs great but the tranny wouldn't work so I downloaded bobby martins manual and have gathered all the other components needed for the conversion and today iv put her in the shop to finish the job but iv found that the wiring harness is a fair bit completely different
So before I get in to deep can any one tell me if there is a bobby Martin style conversion for the later OBD 2 trucks or is there a wiring diagram I can down
Regards vintex

Been there (got the t shirt)
No guide for the OBDII Bobby's was OBDI as you know. After knowing what I know now you are better off putting a OptiShift/US Shift controller in it. Just this week they came out with the Quick 4 controller. It has many features the original did not. Good thing is you can upgrade an original to Quick 4 specs.
I've actually got a call in for new pricing and should know tomorrow. Here is the original unit for you to look at for now.

Looks great but buy the time I get it hear with the conversion rate it's going to be a thousand bucks, cash that I just don't have,iv got a TCM out of a 95 bus surely I can wire this to my tranny ,I'm thinking that may be I could delete the pcm completely as the bus probably didn't run one the one in my truck is only there for the glow plugs I pressume??

The optishift soul be the easier when to go for sure,
But that shipping is painful.

Hummer up to 1995/ all Hmmwvs use only tcm (like the one you have hopefully) and a vssb. You also need an engine speed sensor to replace the oil pump drive. You need a 2 wire signal for the rpm to the tcm not a 3 wire. Sine wave vs square wave issue.

There may be a difference in the transmission itself, but I'm no help on that.

There was also that YouTube video of the guy that used 4 switches, but not a friendly daily driver.

Yep that's the one I just put in,iv got all the bits including the cruise module it's just that the wiring doesn't marry up between OBD 1 and obd2 if I can get a pin out diagram for obd2 truck then I'm thinking I should be able to move the wires from my PCM across to the TCM just as it is in the bobby Martin manual iv found a PCM pin out diagram in the technical part of this site but I'm pretty sure it's obd 1
Has any one out there done a pump conversion on the later obd2 system???

Iv also looked at the manulised 4l80set up on you tube apart from not being user friendly iv read there are a lot of pressure issues in this set up might be alright for a get you home but not something you could risk driving to far from home

5 pounds to Australia is only $90. Your going to spend WAY! more than $90 pulling your hair out/time trying to perfect the TCM.

OptiShift wont need the ESS.

Shoot, there's the ticket. Idk what you can get for it there, but here $50 for a used ess. That's half the shipping cost.
I have the set up your trying to build, believe me, I wished I had just used the optishift. The tcm only system has little things that you won't like. 1 I'm dealing with now is every time my batteries are disconnected for 2 hours the transmission shifts at full pressure for a day. Beats the heck out of everything. I've got torque biasing differentials, regular differentials won't like that very many times.
