Injection Pump TDCO @ -2.46 what do I need to do ?

Some guys in the other thread were saying there IPTC was growing rapidly but they didnt have any timing DTCs or issues from desired to measured. I dont know if you can trust that one from Carcode.

I doubt there is anything wrong with the OS. Just make sure its connector is seated good. You never know what PO did. If you can get eyes on the crank sensor on timing cover see if it is the type with a solid plastic casing with mounitng tab. Or is it the type with a metal mounting tab that is capable of popping off and being put back on in the wrong orientation. If its the all solid plastic I wouldnt suspect it either.

My ipt and iptd seem to fluctuate while driving and are close to each other, but while at idle, they are generally 5-6 off from each other (iptd 12 or so, while ipt is 6 or so)

This is what mine showed when I went too far to driver side and my tdco was -2.46. Even after moving pump back to passenger side a couple times still showed same. On the third bump it put me back in range and I hit -1.94 and ipt and iptd went back to normal at idle. You just needed to keep moving it toward passenger side.

I took it back to the dealer, hopefully they will be able to get to it this week. If they jerk me around, I'll attempt it on my own.

so the dealer reported back and they were able to move the IP to get the timing retarded. I wont know the specifics until morning. My question now is that if they set it to -0.5 which is what I think factory is, will I be able to do a tdc relearn and set it to -1.94 without moving the pump?

ok, well, hopefully they followed my instructions and set it to -1.94. But even if they dont, I figure its probably better than where it was.

figured the stealer wouldnt understand your request, just follow the defined procedure in the manual.

Is why we usually recommend spending the money on the wrenches or scanner software instead of the stealer labor.

Lessons learned.
