Decided to go with a different group for this bike... it was offered with a Shimano mechanical group or their new electric one for the same price. I initially went with the mechanical, but had the shop order it with the electric group instead. Curious to try this out because a lot of people had good stuff to say about it.

I've been riding the CX bike a lot lately. Went out with a friend for 2 hours on the road last Sat... on the way back, we passed a MTB park where I ran across some people I know from the team and I did another 2.5 hours in the woods with them trying to keep up with everyone on their MTBs. Went home and slept most of the afternoon.

The electric shifting takes some getting used to because you're pressing buttons instead of moving levers, but it's quick, self-adjusting and seems to work very good so far. I've only ridden it once because the weather was lousy over the weekend... much snappier than the other bike.
