I Need the GM part number for emergency brake cable 1994 K3500 crewcab long bed.

Does anybody know where to find the number

Are there better quality aftermarket cables to be had?

Mine is frayed at the pedal.
 
Rock Auto has them listed as Parking Brake Cables
18P1361 or 18034279 is for a crew cab but it didn't list one for the long bed with crew...
Call them in the morning. Only $10 plus shipping.

According to this you need to know which lever pad style you have
 
Dumb question, but how do you tell a removable pad from a non-removable pad?

I have removed things only to be told they really didn't come apart. And didn't see how some things that were supposed to come apart actually were to be dismantled.

Is the difference obvious?

No personal experience here; I guess I'd look at the molding lines on the backside of the pad to try and tell if it was molded around the pedal arm or if the opening is oversized enough to fit over the pedal. Or if your 96 is nearby to compare, it should have the non-removeable pad.
 
I checked the 94, 98 & 95. The emergency brake pedals are all the same. They appear to be removable. You can pull the rubber off where you would push down with your foot
 
Then you need 15644903 which unfortunately is discontinued, and nobody shows stock at this time. I guess aftermarket or used are the only options, or modifying one to work.
