I just stuck mine on the heat sink without any pad or paste (heat sink needs to be flat). I do think sealing around the edge with RTV is a good idea (but I didn't do that either).

When I inquired about heat transfer paste, this was the only stuff recommended to me. I have no info on the silicone heat paste. Got a link or anything?

Any info or opinions on heat paste would be appreciated.

I'll look, but all it is the paste they used to use on the HEI ignition modules in a GM HEI one wire distributor.

Use artic silver and you will be fine. If you need it now you can buy it at Radio Shack. I have used it for the PMD with no problems, just make sure your heat sink is clean. A little goes a long way.

That expensive stuff is best left for CPU heat sinks, on computers. For the PMD to heat sink,,, use the cheapest stuff you can get or the thin pad that came with the PMD. Your over thinking it.
