Hx40ii boost controller

Race day mechanic, the bolt on the boost controller is too small and wont thread into the gold color peice that hookes to the waistgate

Bruce, tracking shows it was delivered yesterday. I'm out of state camping at the moment, but will get some install pics up this week.

Some of them seem to be 8mmx1.0 rods.

I take that back, although the piece that we retain connected to the wastegate lever would thread onto 8mm bolt, it only went on about 7 threads, which I thought might have just been a taper. So I checked the rod and couldnt put an 8mmx1.0 nut on it, so it might be 8mmx1.25, will have to take it to the hardware store and see what it will thread into.

It appears that the rod on mine is actually not metric, but 5/16"-24, which is very close to M8-1.0.

Yes definetly i just will be running it like that untill i need new batterys then i will get top post batterys and run my intake, i already have the silicon and i cant see myself buying new batterys when mine are still good, the intake will look just like yours

here is the setup that i did for my hx40. I am using the stock vacuum to control it.

Very nice. Is that a 3" PVC coupler on the turbo, looks like something we used :)

So did you thread or weld the GMx actuator rod or weld it to the rod end that came with the HX40? And pics of that setup by itself?

Now you need a PCM program that actually has a good boost curve. Stock dumps boost too much and aftermarket typically totall misses the point and just puts it high all the time. So you need something inbetween, that actually dumps boost at cruising RPMs and fuel rates. That, and a normal PCM can only control up to 15psi of boost accurately with the 2-bar MAP. Funny thing is though, it could just hold the gate shut all the time once you hit 15psi if someone programs in 15psi. Because the MAP will just keep telling the PCM its at 15psi.

thats interesting, what kind of boost numbers are you getting?

i really dont think there is enough vacuum to overcome the pressure of the pot
