Well I indulged myself in a billet Wicked Wheel 2 for my HX35. 54mm inducer. Just some pictures. Will be swapping this weekend and will weigh the wheel that is in it now for a good comparison. Used a analytical balance to weigh it so it is pretty accurate. One of the perks of still being in college. We have access to some cool stuff

Yeah. It actually feels surprisingly heavy though when holding it. If it is suppose to weigh less than the cast piece in it, that's weird. I don't see there being as big of a weight difference as I initially thought. "The More You Know" :) Can't wait to get some testing in though. Worst case scenario, can't hurt

Weird. Both billet wheels I bought and my factory billet wheels were lighter than there cast counterparts so yours will be interesting.

So some interesting results. Swapped out wheels today. First impressions: Weird. So just hand vs hand, the billet unit does seem to weigh less. At least just less enough to tell. Heres where it gets weird. The billet unit spools just as fast as the cast unit and spools at the same rpm, which I thought was weird. I thought it would spool faster. However! The billet unit seems to pull a lot harder, and especially create much more low end torque it feels like and seems a lot better in the higher rpm's. Will post pictures of the wheels side by side tomorrow

Makes sense spool wise and what your feeling powerwise, it has the extended tip so its pulling more air in at the same rpm and you didn't change the wheel size either.

I really gotta get my 60mm wheel installed, although towing today, combined weight of 9000 lbs, she didn't skip a beat.

Sorry for crappy pics. Camera is getting old. Can definately see the pitch change between the two, on the larger blades, and especially on the reworked smaller blades.

Those Mettler scales are the balls aren't they? What was the difference in weight?

The difference being 1.1393 grams. The cast wheel actually being a touch lighter. Which makes sense. Billet is solid. Cast leaves room for air pockets during production. Why billet is stronger. I thought they'd shave enough off during production of the billet piece though to make it lighter. Regardless, I cannot tell any difference in spool characteristics however the billet wicked wheel 2 does definitely seem to have better flow. Very noticeable when pulling hard and even just simply passing. Money well spent
