So I am/was having some weird issues with my HVAC. The door that changes locations for the air would clank and slam and sometimes I couldn't tell where the air was coming out. Lately on any position except for out the dash vents the air seemed to cool off. Today I bought a new actuator. I pulled the old one off and opened it up expecting to see the large gear cracked, NOPE everything looked good. So for grins I put on the new actuator and it wouldn't do anything NADA!. So I put on the old actuator and now everything works normally with no clanking and slamming. The air did seem to be getting cooler the longer I drove it but was much better than before. So what gives? Do I need new controls?
