Hummer rims

I was bouncing back and forth between the 305s and 315s, but if you can clear the 305s with under 2" I should be able fit the 315's with my 3"

I don't think that would pose too much of a problem. I still rub but not under..."everyday" conditions. Monster speed bumps and things of the sort still make contact and it's really bad sounding, but for everyday it's fine although still way to close for me to be comfortable with it.

Sorry to hijack but I just have to ask; Gerald how did you fit your stock center caps? I shaved down the bottom of one of mine and cut small "compression reliefs" and still cannot fit the caps.

matt, definately put your hub caps on with the rims, saw a set Sunday that looked exactly like the ones in your second pic, hubcaps and all, on a 2500, and it looked aweful. i think with the different hubcaps they look pretty good.

Yeah, the first one took a bit of time to figure out. I had a friend with a lathe and cut the plastic down if that makes sense. Stock they are too wide and will not screw onto the lugs. Hope this helps?

I actually have a set of the NBS center caps that I will be putting on with them, I just didn't have time to get a picture with them.

You are right though, those Hummer caps are capital U-G-L-Y!!:puke:

Well here it is, finally, the conclusion to this thread! Christmas break gave me enough time to get these finished up and put on. I had them beadblasted by my local Carquest, then the tire shop powdercoated them gloss black, mounted the tires and balanced each with a 4oz bag of Equal balancing beads. The center caps were a set of freebies from a buddy of mine.

Total cost was around 1050:
Rims - $350
Tires - $450
Beadblasting - $60
Powdercoating - $140
Mounting and balancing - $50
Center Caps - Freebie!!

The rims are 8.5" wide with 3.5" offset and 5" backspace, the tires are 315/70-17s BFG All-Terrains. They clear the bumper, with only a little trimming required, with my 3" of lift. I ended up having to shorten the pads on the inside of the center caps so that the caps would catch the threads on the lugs. Also, I found that the centers were very tight on the hubs and actually wrinkled up the powdercoat a little bit.

Nice. It's weird (maybe I'm the only one), the reflection of the light off the snow in the first picture makes the rim look superimposed in the picture.

How's the fitment in the rear? From the looks of it my rears don't sit on the wheel mounting surface; instead they hit the outside lip of the drum and are held in place by tension (torquing lug nuts). I haven't got down and taken a good look but at a glance that's how it looks on mine. Curious if yours does the same?

I believe that is what happened with mine also, they may have gotten seated though, I ran them on with a breaker bar and then tourqued them down, which pulled them in alot.
