You are right about transynd, but I'm runnin' stock fluid. The synthetic stuff can go a lot longer, but the filter still has to be changed at regualr intervals.

How soon to change fluids from factory

, stock fluids in front & rear axles and T-case, with 54k as of this weekend. Time to do some serious work!!! Just switched to Amsoil in the engine (HDD 15W-40 & EaO), and an EaA filter and my dad got 13 mpg hauling an off road golf cart on a car trailer to MO (about 650 miles) @ 80 MPH on friday. Curious to see what he gets on the way home, unloaded. He went hunting down there, BTW.

No. If yu do a search on transynd you'll see many guys have switched over to it, but there is a procedure to make sure you get all of the stock fluid out so as not to dilute the synthetic.
