How many miles do you drive between oil changes and have you ever had a UOA done?

I go between 5,000 and 10,000 miles.

Have had several UOA and every time they come back telling me that I can go longer.

Now, I go by what the DIC tells me, which is approx. 10,000 miles.

I have been using synthetic oil ever since the first oil change. For the first two years I used Shell Synthetic 5W-40 , but for the last 4 years I've been using Mobil 1 Turbodiesel Truck 5W-40.

WW, what did they find to lead them to this diagnosis?

Diagnosis was "Fix EGR and flush system to remove contaminates."
Soot was extreme, Iron and aluminum was through the roof (Red flagged.)
I didn't get another oil sample done before the piston burned through.

I change between 3000 and 5000 Miles-It depends on how the oil smells.....I use 15 W40....
