I got a letter from Honda finance today and they pulled my loan out of default and are offering me a pay off quote for $7000 even, at $150 a month, with zero interest for 3 years.

They are working with me and I guess patients paid off a small amount. No interest is cool and I'll take it.

Its better than nothing so at least now I know where I stand with them. I'd be nice if they wiped it clean and offered me a loan for a brand new one but this is a good start. Once I get on my feet, there's another one in my future.

Thought I'd share.

The thieves will be glad to know that you'll feel a little better, and maybe leave one tooth in their head(s).
I still can't imagine how you feel getting something like that stolen. I would still be freaking. When my drill got stolen, I set up my sawzall the next day near the suspects while I was peaking out a cracked door a few rooms down. I was holding my 4lb sledge hammer picturing how I was going to hold their hand, and deciding whether to start with the pinky or the thumb. I was honestly going to break every finger on both their hands. Only the thought of doing it could put a smile on my face at that time.

Glad to hear that things are looking up Nick. Been in your shoes before and it's good when things start looking up.

Thanks guys...

Things are looking up, one day at a time.

I dont know why they insisted on refinancing since I sent them the police report. They wanted me to pay it off in 6 months to get the loan out of their hands...Like I can really afford to pay $1200 a month for the next 6 months...If I could, why would I have needed to finance to begin with? Retards...

This is better than nothing though...

Good to hear. Usually with ATV's, if you stop paying the Loan or have problem, just wait a few Months and they'll cut you a Deal like this.

My friends have done this MANY times.

not that you've missed any...but be careful and don't miss a single pmt. from here on...I'm sure there is some fine print with interest rates skyrocketing if your late even just once...

Glad to hear they are working with you though...

Yeah, and a scar on your credit is so hard to fix with out suffering. What bothers me is that you proved to Honda that it was stolen, and this was the best they could have done??

Hang in there, it will only get better.

Baby steps...it'll come together again. Pep was right about those zero interest offers...they usually come with strings and can really bite back, so be a good boy. You'll need those good marks for future endeavors.

Well, it was initially but after I moved, my rates nearly doubled. No reason other than the locals evidently cant drive. I changed deductibles from $500 to $1500 in order to save a buck and it worked pretty well. There was no way I could have afforded to shell out double what I was already paying for insurance, so I did what I could to survive. In doing what I could, I dropped the coverage to save around $400 a year.

They gave me crap because they said that legally, they couldnt continue to take my payment for something there was no collateral for. I didnt understand it but whatever. I continued to pay them what my original payment was and they put it into default, telling me I had to refinance or find a bank and get a loan. There was no way I was gonna get any kind of loan, living on credit cards at the time so I continued to pay what I owned them in an attempt to milk it a month or two. Realistically, I have no idea though why they did what they did.

Are you kidding?? Did you have a credit scar after that?? And did they keep buying from the same company afterwords??

Ok Nick, quit teasing us Northerners with that warm avatar pic...LOL Actually we had bad winds, as well as thunder/lightening/rain storms. Got a little snow, but nothing to worry about.

All hot and sunny down there??
