The answer is no. The boost on the 6.5TD with the electronic IP stock OEM is controlled by the ECU. It reads the barometric pressure (sensor on firewall) and along with the manifold pressure to manipulate the wastgate to control the correct boost pressure for elevation.

Thanks, that is what I wanted to hear. This old guy can learn something new.

NVW is correct and just to share my thinking along with his, the OEM stock turbo is somewhat restrictive more so at higher rpms. The larger down pipe good clean crossover pipe & 4" exhaust just help it breath & reduce the differential pressure at the turbo. The lower pressures there should greatly reduce the temps for the same flow, at least that is how this ole dog..I see it. :)
