Hard Start After Hot

ugh,,,, I'm in need of a newer IP for mine. last summer, mine started to do the wont start,, and 1 bottle of water over the IP head, and Vrooom! fired right up. So I know I'm in need, but am really worried about doing all that work, and then still having issues. Not looking forward to spending all that loot on one, to have it be bad.
That is always a concern, spend the big bucks then find what was replaced is not the problem. In Your case though, after reading in this forum, it seems that Your IP probably is bad.

Well I did the work and it's not that bad. As this was not my primary driver, I was able to take my time. I did have a number of other issues being addressed at the same time.

Chilton book gives pretty good instructions about the 6.2/6.5 engines.
I could not find any info in the Haines book that I have.
As Big T said, not a bad job, intake manifold needs to come off though.

Seeing as though the intake manifold on mine came off several times, I've become an expert. I would run the engine (briefly) without the manifold to check for fuel leaks on all the hard lines at the IP. Also, make sure that no wires are under the manifold before torquing down, or you will crack it.

YUP, I made the mistake of not running the engine before installing the manifold and turbo, ad a leak on an injector fiting behind the turbo and one at the pump. back apart it come again. LOL

Alright did a trip: Fullerton >Big Bear Lake > Boulder City, NV (picked up a snowblower I had shipped to Will L.) > Big Bear Lake (stayed the night and unloaded snowblower) > Carlsbad (visited ailing MIL) > Fullerton. 733 miles on a truck stuck in 4 Hi, but never had any restart problems while hot. The Powermaster starter is performing as advertised and I'm not sweating over a possible faulty reman IP.

The snowblower was my wife's Xmas gift. She requested it. She always shovels the driveway up there, so why not. The model is an Ariens 28" SHO. They would not ship to CA because it is not CARB compliant. Next model up was the 30" SHO, which could be shipped to CA because it was CARB compliant, but 50% more in cost and more than we really needed. Heck the way the winter is going down in Socal, we'll be lucky to see any snow up there this year.

Got to see Will L. who was able to evaluate some issues on my '99 Suburban. New transfer case. New shocks. Otherwise, it's running fine. Need to smog it here in the next month, which means putting back the OEM Turbo, Vac Pump, etc. But it's running a lot cleaning once I figure out the exhaust donut on the Driver's side of the crossover was basically gone.
