Had enough of these thief friendly door handles!

there won't be a key hole on GW's design. that will be done with the remote. the handle is just to grab it to open when it's frozen.

You're makin' me all paranoid and stuff.

What about the old square body 73-91 handles?

I have not looked at these, do they push against the latch directly or is a linkage need. I know the first gen trucks pushed directly on latch. I installed some 2005 style handles on my 93, but they would have been just as easy to break into. The reason I mention it though is because you need to ideally find a handle that would push downward on a linkage to the latch.
Nice thing about the Kodiaks is they are much stronger than P/U style handles. The lock cylinder is reinforced and a thief would make alot of noise trying to hammer one out.

GW, maybe shaved smooth? like a strippers kitty?.

The 73-91 handles are set up to LIFT a rod that, in turn, connects to the latch.

I take it the 88-98 handles push down, right? This would make things a little more diff-uh-cult.

Could be done though..

I could go rummage through some junk and photo one in detail if needed. I shaved my '74 handles, then after I did, I missed having the handles.

How about charging up a 10kf capacitor and wiring it up inside the skin so only a screwdriver would complete the circuit?

PS- carry a camera and when you see a punk with a screwdriver like you did, be REAL obvious about taking his picture. Maybe you'll get lucky and he'll get angry and come close enough to earn a beating

camera, heck a baseball bat would be better

if ,your going to this much trouble, just shave off the handles all together and use solenoids aka ''door popers'',from your remotes

:eek:ut: I took me a weekend of spare time to read all of your restification thread. :hihi:

Whew, that's nuts!

That's like a year and a half of posting.....

Can I assume from your screen name you're familiar with this stuff?

;)

I was just about ready to drive my tpi with this:

I had run a 7747 and a 427 PCM.

I was going to swap in a vortex and use a vortex/tpi lower manifold.

But I pulled it all off, sold the truck and bought my current diesel...

Yes a wee bit :) I still have one setup in bits out in the shop. The dang box with the PCM and cable for it went missing. I think is got stolen or lost when I moved back in about 99. I was going to put it on a Jag / Chevy conversion I have but when I dug it out I discovered the missing box, or lack there of.

The thread was better than any thing on TV, sooooo.
