For that price, I coudn't resist. Now the question is do I fix the stuff wrong with it and give up the CUCV or use it for parts for my CUCV. It's damn nice inside. No rips full power. So far obviuso issues are rotted brake lines and a major fuel leak somewhere but it starts right up and sounds pretty good for 187k. Does have a little blowby. I bought it to bone parts off for my CUCV project but it may be worth fixing up. I didn't drive it yet as no brake condition. Cool thing is I already have the books and GMTDScan.

It's green so that's a good omen. I actually arrived at the same time someone else was there with cash in hand. There was a minor standoff but the other buyer, realizing I drove 70 miles to get it, walked away. That was very nice of him although in my mind the seller of the truck owed the truck to me because I called him beofer I left and asked him to hold it till 6;30 pm since i had to travel so far and he agreed. If he hadn't I would not have bothered.

Here's the pics in case craigslist link goes bye bye.

Also quick observation I noticed:
blowby
fuel leak
rotted brake lines
trans line leak
Oil cooler line leak.
PMD still on Pump.
Looks nice outside but kinda ugly underneath.
Tires are shot.
Gonna hook GMTDScan on it tommorow see what's up.

Oh don't worry once I get to make a fair assemnet, another poll will be posted and it will include medicaltreatment as an option...:D

Oh I bought it. It's sitting on my trailer right now (towed here by my 76 yre old Mothers Superduty. Will make for funny pic tommorow). Think this one was a no brainer.

You know I hate to say this but Mom's PS towed awesome. it was damn hot today and the temp gauge never moved at all. Too bad I need back surgery now from the ride. what a horrible riding truck.

My first truck was that shade of green. I love that color... How is the box on it? If you part it out i may be interested in the box. Let me know when the time comes...

Green on top of grey... what an appealing colour for a truck! Don't you think a truck like that should be featured prominently on DTR? <snicker... :pokey::poke:>

Zoinks Kenny,

That was quite the deal. You done good, bro. You may end up putting more than that into it to bring it up to snuff. However, it may well be worth it.

I wonder if any of those 'solvent' cleaners could help with the blowby, IF it is due to oil degradation and build-up, not actual metal/metal wear. (e.g. AutoRX is a slow-acting solvent which might help).

Congrats!

-Rob :)

hows the body kenny?? any rot?

looks nice in the pictures!!

Gave it a real fast look. Know the drivers door is rusty. Bed "looked ok" but i wasn't under the truck really, Basically I had to make a split second desicion since another buyer was there as well. I'll check it out tonight. It has not been a good day so far. I got f'in DOT'd and out of service with one of my Large Cars..:mad2:
Luckily no fines.
