Thanks dka99burb.. Nice looking truck you have their.
I got all the mantince done i forgot yhe camera so no pic.. I have to say my 10,000 pound 2 post lift didnt like the burb i guess its the full 42 gallon tank behind the rear axel made me nervious.. found out i got a brand new starter too but also found the glow pulg wiring is a little tore up i saw a member here who was make really nice replacments harnesses but i dont remember who it was HELP :???:
But everything else looks great thanks to all on this form its a great community compared to other places on the web...

Glad to see CompNine back online, its absence was noticed all over the Web.

While a little late to the discussion, back to the original question . . . The only additional item to the purchase checklist is to do the idle to 2K RPM test 10 times in a row (with a warm engine and no load on it) and if the RPMs do not follow the TPS (pedal) closely 100% of the time on all reps, need to look into why. When I bought my Burb I did the RPM test for only cycle and the engine tracked fine, but there were things I noticed after purchase, like T/C unlocked on deceleration and the subtle need to give the pedal a slight push after I got to speed (the vehicle got up to the speed that I wanted, but occasionally after a second or so wanted to drop-off by a hundred-ish RPM; this was most noticeable in parking lots), which pushed me in the direction that the IP was not happy.

Enjoy the ride and watch the wallet as you will quickly want to put money into upgrading the Burb :hihi: Oh, and think about fueling up at ½ tank as you will probably not like the bill of a complete fill.

Thanks jay for the tip... i have been down the ip on my other 6.5 so i ran the 2000 rpm test quite a few times "a Bill Heath recmendation" the po looked at me like i was nuts.... Right along with smelling the oil dipstick looking for antifreeze and checking coolant tank smelling it too for compression.. So far so good it just remindeds me how badly my dualley needs a engine i guess its off to Teds soon to get an optomiser 6500.. Very strange having two 6.5 now they are just two completly different trucks one with 4.10 that runs great to 50 and the burb with 3.42's a little slugish in town and love's the interstate but i love the truck.. Off to put new sneakers on it tomorrow their goes a grand!!!! Ok question to other burb owners what kind of exhaust do you run i have a dimiond eye kit on the dually and love it but i am worried about putting on the burb and having it be way to loud inside. :skep:

I have no experience, but I bet the straightpipe will be too much and the muffled one will be about right. I am young, so the muffled may be too loud for those who have outgrown eardrum destruction.

I do know on my burb, I will be putting the muffled kit on.

I have read a number of the posts here re exhaust. One is that come body styles resonate the sound, another is that tip extension reduces noise inside, a third is that if the noise is back-out and away you hardly hear it inside. My truck is now 4" straight back from the down tube adapter. Its a standard cab long bed and I only hear it with the passenger window down and heavy throttle.

Do not know which brand of exhaust my Burb has, but do know that it is 2-1/2" crossover, 3" down, 4" the rest of the way with a resonator in the middle, and no tip extension. Setup is not as loud as straight pipe, but the neighbors definitely know when I leave for work and get home . . . There is one interesting body harmonic where the front passenger seat is clearly getting the loudest effect in the cabin, so a future project is to remove the carpets and put down something to deaden the drone. So, except for the front passenger seat, the sound is Ok.

I had a turn down right behind the kitty on my burb for over a year. It was loud, but not unbearable. I now have a banks exhaust which is 3" turbo back, with their muffler.

I love it. It did not raise egt at all and is way quieter. My fuel mileage actually bumped a hair little bit up, which may be coincidence, but I love the exhaust.

Note that my burb has a "sound reduction package" on it per the glove box codes. So your mileage may vary!

I also like the pipe because I had to stomp it after pulling out on a highway and a semi came over the hill rolling FAST and I stomped it... It was cool to see a bit of black smoke before I was rocketed forward. That buddy writes a good tune! Amazing what the top end is like, since I am rarely up there!

Check to make sure the exh. isn't touching the frame, I had to tweak mine to get rid of harmonics.

Wish it was that easy, I have several inches clearance from turbo to tail . . . Still have the firewall insulation which looks and feels like it is in good shape.
