Go fast parts on the way

That makes sense, I plan on plugging it in just for haha's to see if it will work anyway, if not, I will send it out so that it might work on the truck.

I can tell you with almost 100% certainty it won't work. 96 doesn't have security in it whereas the 00 uses passlock and will be looking for the signal fro mthe key switch theft module. If it was a 96 going into a 00 it should work with the security light on, but not the other way around.

A good consideration for sure.

But, one of the more popular changes in re-flashing these trucks is disabling the passlock. Basically, the PCM polling of the module for the "handshake" is disabled.

However, I have disabled passlock on many vehicles before (including my 98) and if the EVO module is removed (thingy behind the ashtray) it won't run.

So, even if the passlock is disabled in the PCM, it still may not work because the PCM won't "see" the module even if it doesn't care what it has to say about the hall sensor.

I still say pop it in and try it. I just wouldn't count on it working.....worst thing that can happen if it won't run is you have confirmed you have a core for return on a re-flashed PCM.

:)

My Flight Systems PMD kit from Leroy came in today! Ill post up some pictures when I get home tonight.

Well, the flight systems PMD kit is in, and the truck runs great like usual, however, when I removed the stanadyne kit, I plugged in the grey PMD for haha's, works fine. Looks like the insulation on the wires in the extension got torn a bit, and probably grounded out. Good to know I have another spare, but I still spent $300 on another kit. Ah well, one less thing to worry about.

The ECM came in today, and surprise surprise, it didn't work. Truck would start and die, start and die, start and die. I am going to send it out for adjusting to get rid of the security lock. Due to the glow plug timing being different, I will need to either convert the truck to 98-00 style glow plug control, or (what I think I will end up doing) set up a manual glow plug switch on a relay.

Here ya go. Took about an hour and a half to get everything the way I wanted. Would have taken half that if I had a chop box :) Everything was pretty straight forward. I had some clearance issues with the side of the box that butts up against the coolant bucket. Oh well, its tight but it works. Pipe is 4" to 3" for the turbo. Noticeable quieter than the cone "warm air intake" I had before, but knowing Im getting cold air makes it all better. And it looks good too.

WHat happened to the picture?

I am using the OEM elbow off the turbo for 96 and older?. Before the silencer.

What do I need to get to the filter in the K47 air box?

I have been using PVC short 90's and couplings. I think it was a street 90.

the leg heading towards the turbo was 3.93 O.D. and 3 3/4 long. The leg heading to the K47 and into the air filter is 3.75 O.D. and 2 1/2" long.

Is there a silicone elbow I can use with a couple of pieces of aluminum pipe?

I was going to make a tight 3 piece elbow out of aluminum, but if I can buy the parts it would be much easier.
