Thinking about getting this for my 95. The cable is $80 bucs the software is free. Thought it might come in handy in the future, but wanted to here some feedback from the group...before I make the purchase.

Thanks in advance for sharing,

Yeah, this is Stefan's software package and it works very well on our OBD-I (1994-95) trucks.

However... you are misinformed.

GMTDScan BASIC is free.

GMTDScan TECH is $125 US

The basic version will read most parameters, but won't let you set or change anything. The TECH version is the one that lets you modify, tune, etc.

You can save some money by building your own cable.. the directions are on the net somewhere, as I recall...

Yes, this is definitely a tool you'll be glad you've purchased after you've used it.

Beyond basic reading & clearing diagnostic trouble codes, you can do the timing learn function after R/R the injection pump.

There's also value in being able to watch the many different parameters (can display 6 on one screen) in real-time with the engine running/rolling down the road.

GMTDScantech is a must have I think.

I use CarCode for 0bd-2, others have autoenginuity.

Scan tech is better than any scan tool I've seen. As said ,6 things at once can be monitered. Nothing else compares.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
