I have the small round/bullet style controller that sits on the rear of the drivers head, I am on my 3rd NEW one and getting pissed off, really tired of using starting fluid everyday, :mad2: so what are my options, manual is not one due to my wife driving it and the fact I will be selling it next year. I see the 90's 6.5's are reliable so is that an option to wire in? Wiring isn't a big deal. TIA.

the later 6.2/6.5 setup doesn't have alot of wiring to it. IIRC there were 6 total. one IGN, light, temperature sensor in the head, ground. that the only ones i can remember.

what did you end up doing/ using? I am totally rewiring my CUCV and want to ditch the circuit board controller they use.

Wired in an 88 ish controller, took about an hour, and yay, they work like they should, even when it hit 0 deg C here the other day.

I put a push button switch way down under dash, power from ign. (only works with key on) Count up to "seven potatoes" and start. My first two (PU & Suburan) always worked fine But the Blazer was eatin' 'em for breakfast. -corne-
