Gauging interest in a new intake adaptor for the ATT

Saw the PM notification while in the Florida swamps. Answered via Email. PM answer just sent. Pictures posted under 'new Heath Turbo' thread. Still a little brain fried from running around the woods/swamps last week.

I won't steal his business either so it's good to know they are available. Doubtful there is much demand here for one though. Looking forward to your install and results.

The Box-O-Diesel porn arrived today, thank you :)

For grins, am going to hold off on installing it to get dyno runs with the OE upper intake and then the 3" system.

Great glad you got it, that reminds me I was going to stencile "DIESEL PORN" all over the box

I have a whole bunch of material still so if anyone else needs an adaptor let me know.

I am still considering/ interested... it is winter and I own a small construction company. The ol cheeks tighten up this time of year with work on a slower pace. I have a project hopefully coming up involving another ATT/ 6.5 combo this spring. I would love to use the adapter, spacer and piping as pictured above. After installing the ATT on Gertie I have some ideas for the downpipe and exhaust that I am also hoping to try.

Great, good luck. Let me know.

Leroy, With apologies, I realized that I hadn't sent the Cummins Elbow part as I promised to do last month.

Holidays etc. and memory, mostly memory I guess is to blame. Glad the thread was bumped up and I reread it.

Anyway, it went out this morning and should be there Wednesday. USPS

Great thread! I would like to ditch the factory upper intake for a Pensinular one to run with my GM4 for now. ATT is in the plans, as would be a spacer from Leroy. Is there any chance you could start selling the Peninsular intakes, Leroy?

Probably won't sell the Penisular.

Just flubbing around when I put my Pen back on to see how things would line up using that elbow with the Pen intake rotated 90* to the front. I don't see where it would line up very well with a GM and would still need an offset spacer to work with the ATT. I guess one could cut the flange off that elbow and weld it up solid with the Pen to get the geometry a little better. It would eliminate that 3" boot which is a weak point at higher boost levels. Still, that's a lot of fab work for both the Peninsular and the spacer. Not sure it's worth the cost.

Paul, it might be better/cheaper to make a custom upper? I have not had a day lately to work on this stuff again, let alone a good weather day. Soon though.

Leroy, I think you're right. Either make a custom unit or use the Peninsular upper and the Cummins Elbow parts as a means of making one (cut and weld). For someone like me though, I like to have options as I never know one year to the next which turbo I'm going to be running. Right now, I like the S-84 but want to try the ATT again with the new motor so I need the flexibility. When I do make the change, I'll use the ATT spacer with OEM upper for a while and then I'll try it again with the Peninsular and my current spacer. Not sure what it will prove but its a hobby and fun to try new stuff while I can.

Thanks for all you do for us by the way.

So, if I had already done an ATT install which means I had to cut my upper intake per the directions, what would be the best course of action for me to be able to utilize this spacer? Have the piece that I cut off welded back on or use a longer straight silicone hose?
If you're set on using the spacer and the original upper style intake my options in order would be:
1. Keep what you got unless you're blowing boots with the current set up
2. E-Bay for a complete replacement upper intake
3. Weld the removed section back on to your current piece
4. Steel tube to bridge the gap with two silicon hoses. Cut the steel tube so there is minimum gap between turbo and intake mating surfaces.

I was driving up the east shore past Kaneohe a couple years ago and came across a beautiful 6.5 Sub, dark green...was that yours?

Could have been CORVAIRWILD on his quest back from AZ when he bought his green Burb. Chevy 2500 dark green intercooled with pillar gauges. That was 2 summers ago I believe.
