Gasket between turbo and exhaust manifold

Is there supposed to be a gasket between the exhaust manifold and turbo?

from everything I've read it didn't come with one from factory but they are available

No gasket from the factory, just like the exhaust manifolds to the heads.

Mine has a gasket on it since my Heath injector kit came with one for the flange and the turbo oil return line.

I just yanked my turbo off and it did not have one.

I had no idea there was no gasket between the heads and manifold. Seems odd to me.

With good machining a gasket is just something to burn out. My 77 GMC grain truck with a 427 has no exh. man. gaskets.

Thats true, my dad worked on machines in factories and they had alot of parts machines so straight they used to gaskets.

When I got my rebuilt turbo, it came with a gasket, so I used it.
