Fuel lines schematic?

bison he is (imo) discribing normal operating conditions with engine running. Except the vac/suction should stop at the discharge of the LP and become pressurized until IP.

Yep, gotcha.

....Unless I'm mistaken hence the reason for the subject line on the post...2 lines come out of the tank 1 feeds the LP the other is a bleed return, right? The return line was wet & weeping and had left some of under carriage in that area wet as well as the frame rail was wet with diesel.....

Yeah it sounds like you've got things fixed up. I wasn't sure if you had found and repaired the supply line instead of the return line. You would know.. You're the one wearing the diesel.. ha ha ., :)

Its simple enough.

The fuel system is closed loop
At shutoff the fuel spilled trough the pinhole/leak in the return line during driving has a change to drip to the ground in one or more spots and will continue till the return line is bled dry.
If the Checkvalve in the LP is good,it won't cause the IP to bleed dry,if not,it will cause a hard or no start cause the supply line will bleed back as well.

The only concern I have right now is the fuel line I purchased. Napa wanted $12 a foot for bio-diesel compatible hose that was not gonna happen. The hose I got was still 3.99 a foot from Autozone, friggin crooks. The hose I bought has a fuel SAE rating of 30R7. I do not think that is bio hose, I guess we'll see how it holds up...

I think the BIO hose is rated for B100. Most you'll see is 20%. BIG difference. As long as it's exposed and replaceable if need be I'd roll the dice.

Does the AZ hose you got have the blue liner in it? If yes that is pretty good hose and will hold up to Bio.

Yea that's my plan to run it & keep an eye on it.

Just that I am gonna change out the LP along with the LP supply lines & then prolly change out all the lines to the LP & from the LP to the FM / IP and them I only want to do 1 time.

So I will be searching for the best place & type of fuel lines or hose to purchase for that job...

No Leroy it does not. This is the only fuel rated hose I could get form them rated SAE 30R7. I paid $40 for 10 feet friggin BS!

I just found a 25 foot roll on line of SAE 30R9 bio rated hose for $23.00 made by EP Cleveland Inc. go figure.

Well hopefully gave you some jelly or some vasaline then.

Thougth I would share my findings in both places hope that's OK?

No they let me have it dry & with a smile :mad2:

Sharing my learning’s...

The SAE 30R7 rated hose is good for diesel service but not recommended for BIO Diesel

The SAE 30R9 is rated for BIO Diesel service and is my preferred choice.

Pricing / purchasing the SAE 30R9 fuel hose was an education to say the least.

The prices ranges were a joke!

The absolute most ridiculous highest cost 30R9 fuel hose came in at $12.00 a foot from your friendly Napa dealer.

The lowest cost 30R9 I found was had for $23 for a 25 foot roll from EP Cleveland Inc, 7621 Hub Parkway, Valley View, Ohio 44125.

No need to tell you what option I selected…I’m tight no secret there lol.

Hope this helps someone down the road & thanks for all the info everyone!

Best Regards,
Greg

I might pick up some fuel hose for that price. I hope this resolves some of your issues, and you get to put that $4 per gallon fuel into the engine instead of on the ground.

If you still don't get the whoosh sound when you open the cap then there must be a hole in the tank somewhere.
