I've started this one elsewhere and got good response. What additives are you running? Which one's really are improving your MPG's? Opti-lube, standadyne, dieselsomething????, Howes, AMSOIL, etc....there are many out there. If you have proof that one works better over another tell it here. In these days we need all the help we can get.

I was a Howe"s supporter, but got turned on to Opti-Lube XPD and saw an increase in 1-2MPG

I use Power Service, I don't see a MPG increase but I like the idea of adding lubricity and my engine does sound smoother now (it's all in my head, I know)

I use Diesel Plus I am a dealer and a believer. I get 2 mpg increase using it and it lubes the fuel system. When fuel was 4.29 it saved me 10.00 over the cost of the Diesel Plus. In the winter it can be used as a antigel. Great product with a great reputation.

Ragin Diesel additive, but you may wanna look for an additve that you can find readily available in your area.

Walmart carries Powerservice. If your in the warm climate use the grey bottle and for colder winter temps use the white bottle with the antigel.

The howes product is awesome, meaner power cleaner is a bit better than just the Howes Lubricator, as it does increase cetane.

Rolloing Big Power also has a top notch additive, the bottle is expensive but it only takes one ounce per like 20 gollons.

We sell,
Our Ragin additive,Amsoil, RBP.

We have amsoil addive at dealer cost right now. No Memberships required

I guess I will be the Rebel. I use Stanadyne, and get very good results with it! I also use 2 stroke oil regularly.

What's Ragin additive? Website?

I have used Stanadyne Performance Formula every single tank full since I brought my truck home with 10 miles on the odometer. I also started using Stanadyne Lubricity Formula since it became evident that ULSD fuel was the only available fuel around here.

On a forum somewhere (not sure where it is) there is one person that claims it works. My suspicion is he may be selling it.

Basically your buying the formula and ther additve which is not needed. I do know some that have started with the formula and ditch the DS and refomulated with great success

Do you have any issues running the 2- stroke through your cat? I was thinking this may eventually plug it up? And what benifits do you see?
Many people do it, but I can tell you that GM specifically says NOT to blend any engine oil, transmission oil or 2-cycle oil with diesel fuel to burn in GM diesel vehicles. They have many lab and proving ground tests confirming that they are NOT good for the injection system.

If there is a problem with any injection system component and they verify that unapproved additives are being used, they can deny warranty coverage. Like the old saying goes, "CAVEAT EMPTOR" ==> "LET THE BUYER BEWARE".

Yeah....I believe what GM has to say about how to treat a diesel engine....:wink5: "I am from the government and I am here to help you".:biggrin5: Been running 2-cycle TCW-3 for awhile now and it works well.....much better than "dry" running the fuel system. As far as lab tests, you can look up the "Lubricity Additive Tests" on other diesel forums and see firsthand how well some of them do and how poorly others do. Been lucky though....I found some place that has LSD, so I get that as often as possible and add nothing when I am able to get it. Truck loves it.....
