Found a 929 block, what do you think

Old thread here and I know the 599 and 929 are good blocks to build on being from the 91-95 era w/o the piston oil squirters. And of course having a good track record on having way less potential cracks/problems when compared to the 97+ 506 block. I had a question on a 141 casting out of a 1996 van, does this casting 6.5 block have the piston oil squirters or not? Thanks for any clarification.

If 'shopping' at military salvage yards; is there a way to tell what block it is if it is still complete? Any indicators to look for? There are a few of those type yards that I may want to visit.

might be able to see it with an inspection mirror and a flashlight. if it's out of the truck it will say on the rear of the block

I believe it does not have squirters

I found out it is a non-turbo 6.5 out of a 96 van, so since there is no turbo then it's just about a guarantee that there are no piston oil squirters. Looking at buying it for a project build-up engine to put twin turbos and a 300-350 HP capable mechanical injection pump on. Oh....and I don't even have a truck to put it into yet, but would like to build the engine for fun taking my time until the right truck comes along (to use for a pulling truck).

Here's a shot of the valley of OrionThade's "Ted's Engine"

Cool. So I will look for the <> logo when I go 'shopping'. ;)
I hope they put it on the rear of the engine too. I hope to go next weekend. I will try to remember the camera.

That sucks. Is there no other good indicator? Is there nothing else different? Is the logo anywhere else?
If not, I will do my best!
Thanks for info.
