Fog lamp bulbs

3000k HID would def. have more Light Output than the Bulbs you got from me in Foul Weather, but then also, Heat would come into Play with the Housings you have.

Sierra Fogs are ALOT Smaller than Silverado Fogs. So if you aren't having any Discoloration or Peeling of the Chrome with the Halogens, you should be ok with HID.

I see no problems running the 9005 so far...

BTW sorry for the hijack oz...

Heavily covered in plastic.

HID dosent make anything in a true amber though and thats the problem.

Wouldn't it make for sense to have darker rather than more powerful?
The darker color penetrates the fog better, where the brighter bulb would just blind you. Again, some of this comes into play as far as the focus ability of the housing and the bulbs ability to use it.

Well with 3000k and Lower, it's gonna Reflect less / Blend in more with the Fog, yet Cut through it more due it Reflecting less, so in turn, you'll See better.

I'm sure some here have been looking harder than I for a fog lamp solution. I have been trying to research if the 9140 (sticker on my stock bulb) is the same as an H11 or the H10. Different sources are telling me different things.
I haven't been able to find a good site to find out for sure.

9005 / 9145 / H10 will all Fit in the same Spot. The only Difference is the Wattage of them. But with HID's the Wattage is all going to be the same.

Thanks Max...I did attempt to try the 9006 low beams...almost got it. I tried modding the tabs, but still can't get it in there.
I have seen some H10's that have the colored cap like the low beams in 55w in yellow...it is the only one I've seen.
I'm a little hesitant to throw too much power in there as it might be a heat issue.

Nope in these Bigger Fogs like the Silverado has, Heat it not an Issue with 9005's. I've have them in for over a Year before I put in HID's and there was 0 Hazing anywhere.

Which surprises me that the DRL's housings are caked in haze and I rarely run mine. Apparently those little cheap bulbs generate some heat.

I run the factory Hi beam bulbs in my fog lights. I really noticed a difference. Still wish I had HIDS in all my lights but for a cheap replacement they do a nice job.
