Fluidamper Installation/ Harmonic Balancer Removal + Pulley Replacement

I think a FD damper should be one of the first "upgrades" to one of these engines. They make such a big difference, its almost dumb not to put one in, :D :rof: :agreed:

Thanks for the great write-up. I actually enjoyed seeing the photo of you 'sweating', as it gives a human face to the thread.

I am thinking of putting one on the 'Burb, and was searching for any install threads, so this is very timely.

I'm glad to all of you who have found this thread usefull. I did make a tool and like everything I do, I went overboard. I made it out of threaded rod and the bolt I bought from fastenall. The most important part is the thrust bearing. It makes the job very simple. I also can't stand the grinding of the washer on the expensive fluidamper. It was very easy to make. If anyone needs to use it, just shoot me a PM.

I just ordered a new HB and CB for my 93 this will come in handy. Can you do this with the radiator in the truck?

I did...I just pulled the upper half of the shroud and laid some cardboard up against the radiator.....just in case.
