Flash to pass on 95-98

I'm going to check out the eBay guy first. Junkyard parts are far from cheap around here -plus I'd have to wait 'til summer or do a lot of shovelling to get to a junker.

I saw some aftermarket ones on ebay for $49. In your avatar it looks nice and sunny :coolgleamA:

It probably IS nice & sunny in Florida, where that picture was taken  It's been snowing like crazy here in AK lately. It'll be sunny 24/7 soon enough though.
Has anybody here used those aftermarket switches? I'd like to know how they hold up.

Well, I have some good news. I went junkyarding again and found that a 2003 turn singnal stalk will bolt up inplace of the 95-98 style. Now I want to find a good turn sig stalk for cheap$$ to start investigating the wiring. The one at the junk yard was from a flooded truck and it was FUBAR.
I did pull one from a new body style 99 or 00 truck. It was also broken and I could not tell if it had flash to pass. It looked exactly like the 95-98's.
Does any one know the first year they started flash to pass in the full size p/u?

Yep, still working on it. It can be done.

Going to get the rest of the parts to finish the driver door tomorrow.

On a kinda related note I was wondering if the later model of the 88/00 body style trucks had a tow/haul button on the auto shifter? Also wonder what the later models have and if they look like they mount the same. I have an idea for a use for one in my truck. I might get a chance to look at a yard here but I don't think they have very much in stock.

Tow/Haul didn't start till the newer body styles. In other words, my '98 doesn't have it. I'm pretty sure that's not something that you can just "add" as it would be more of a programming thing. If Kennedy or Wester's haven't figured out how to do it by now, I'd venture a guess that it's not possible.

I only need the shifter with the switch as I was thinking about using it to control my TCC so the switch would be a little closer and would free up a switch spot in my overhead console for use with a manual override glow control. And as soon as I finish the switch panel so that the lights work and look the way I want I'll post some pics of it and explain how I did it just got to get the trans done first.

If you can get the lever to mount then yes it could be done. I would say very do'able. I like the idea and I like your thinking.
Just because one of the "big guys" has'int done it does not mean it can't be done.

Great Idea! I would think that if the blinker switch will mount the shifter will.
