I was on my way to the airport at 4:30 this morning and my burb started biting. Fish on fish off. I looked at my fuel guage and it was a little over 1/2 full. My wife was freaking out because she had to drive it home. I was thinking either FSD, bad fuel, or bad IP. The filter and LP were replaced last week so that is ruled out. The FSD is 8 months old mounted on heatsink inside my bumper. I have a feeling it is the fsd. Luckily I have 2 new fsd's in my truck so I showed my wife how to unplug and plug in the new one. She said she isn't driving it. It appears to only bite over 60 mph. at 55 it is fine. I'm glad she made it home okay. I would be in deep doo doo if it died on her way home. At least she would have 4 days to cool off while I am in Norcross GA.

Hmmm, maybe. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge to prove that? I had a new LP die after three months. When something acts up, the first thing I check is the last thing I "fixed".

ya know I was thinking..... I posted a couple weeks ago that I think my fuel filter manager had an intermittent leak. My mpg has decreased by nearly 2 mpg. The biting could be due to air getting into the system if the ffm is leaking.

If your LP is not pushing anything you could get air in anywhere between the tank and IP. The IP is providing all suction.
If the LP was working you'd have a diesel leak downstream (FFM) and only going to suck air between the LP and the tank.

If you reach your hand under the fuel manager, you should be able to tell. If it's all wet with diesel, bingo!

The FM can leak when cold, too.
Jumper the LP while cold, see if it works at all. My FM didn't leak, it was the old rubber hoses, leaked down to drip on the crossover pipe.
My $.02
Antelope valley probably isn't friendly to hot rubber lines...

I am actually in norther ca in Sacramento county. Antelope valley is down south.

Well I felt under the ffm and looked w/ my light after I got home from the airport. Dry!!!! I didn't check the fuel pressure since I didn't feel like going out after being gone for a week. I replaced the new pmd I got on my thanksgiving trip this past year w/ the dipacto that I had in their previously and I have not had a problem at all. we'll see how she runs then next few days.

My wife called me broken down again. She said it was bucking and surging. I showed up replaced the pmd and she drove 7 miles and said it was running fine but something wasn't right. I drove it the last 2 miles and it stalled 3 times. Got it into my driveway and opened the t valve w/ the truck running and she surged and died. No fuel from the LP. I just replaced it 2 weeks ago and its bad again.

Do any recent fuel tank work? Perhaps you have crud in your sock tank? Gasoline sock on your diesel sending unit?

Sounds like you really need a fuel pressure gauge.

I don't even hear my LP. My ops is probably due for replacement. I have a new one but I have been putting it off. I am going to jump the pump to see if it will work.
