First good snow 1/03/2010

1973 tractor, 5 gal lube, other uses for the money...

Nah...):h

Oh well, I guess you could build a fire underneath it first, that's what the old guy down the road used to do to start his frontloader in the winter when I was growing up.

Normally it's parked in an old milk house about the size of a 1 car garage and with it plugged in the lube stays warmer. This time I had it in the 32 x 54 pole barn up north and it was below 0 in there. Even plugged in it lost too much heat. I once lit a charcoal fire under the trans on my old '66 Chevy van when it was -25 back in the mid '70s to get it to shift. Trans was shot so I had 140w in it.

I was un-aware the 95+ wiper arms were different. I'm assuming they swap right in and just have a different head for the wiper itself?! I was going to grab a set of those bosch wipers myself but they didn't fit...

95+ wipers have the hook style instead of pin. They are also bent a tad bit different. They install as if they were stock, well they are...lol

Here are a few more pics. These are at my place of employment. The buried cars are all company Ford Fusions and Toyota Prius's. The stupid guy who plows us does a piss poor job. It looks as if he pushed the snow towards the entrance in one of the pics. Took me 2 hours to totally snow blow the front back and side of this building. He also did this on the side entrance.

Alternator went today. I keep getting nickle and dimed. Well, more like 50'd and 100'd.... Really need this thing to run for a month or two without needing me to spend money on replacement parts... Trying to find one quick! Before i need to plow...

Plowing hammers these... I bought an AZ lifetime replacement unit, and had my core locally rebuilt for a backup. I'll never buy another alternator again for this truck.

I bought one from AZ for our burb... it didnt make it a year! it left me stranded at home and out of time, so I got a NAPA replacement for it... seems MUCH better.
