Finally got around to installing the turbo in my van!!!

So far, so good, and its been hot. Had the van in the air on Saturday and all joints are nice and tight.

Going to Spokane long weekend so still need to install the Dmax pump setup if it ever shows up and redo the turbo drain hose with proper rated stuff, used heater hose to get it running.

So far, she's running great but my "rebuilt" IP has shit the bed. Running Jet fuel, hydraulic fluid and soon ATF, and loving the money savings. Apart from the hard starts, no complaints. I did install some LT tires, so much better.

Sorry to hear bout the ip, hope the alternative fuel is saving a chunck of cash. Have you been able to drive it soft footed and increase mpg, or are you experiencing my problem of enjoying the extra power too much?

I can't complain, I average $5-$600 a month in fuel costs and that's using US diesel, if I shopped at home, add another $100-$125 a month to the fuel bill. I've been running Alt fuels for 2-3 months so do the math, I think I've spent $600 in Alt fuels so its totally worth it. When I do my own, it will be virtually free.

Jet fuel drops me 1-2 mpg and a recent lead footed trip to Spokane netted me 15 mpg on hydraulic oil.

A new IP should bring up my MPG as its so inconsistant.

I am in next months Diesel Power and they want to see my build pics, :rof:

Nice job on fabbing up the turbo.... that is pretty cool mounting the turbo under the van.

Congrats on making it into Diesel Power.

Blew off another friggin hose, need to get some time and properly bead those suckers. Superglued it and a new t-bolt clamp and so far, she held at 18 psi at 1/4-1/2 throttle.

Did some towing this weekend, trailer weighs aprox 1500 lbs and one day had a 2000 Exploder on it, the next a 91 Spirit R/T. Didn't skip a beat and my WATF and jet fuel combo is working perfectly. Have no idea what my EGT's were and honestly don't care at is this point in time, :rof:

My friend drove it Saturday with the Ford on the back and I was following, damn, she sounds good, I can hear the turbo even 2-3 cars back, :rof:

Just bought some modified injectors, rebuilt military IP with a new head and rotor setup so need to find the time to install them.

New Ip works awesome, turned it up 1/2 turn but drinking fuel. Finally got around to installing some modified injector and holy shitt, what a difference, should have done it months ago. The waste oil thing is awesome, fuel bills are very low now.

Sounds real good. Is the upper red number on the lower gauge the boost? If so I believe I saw north of 22psi.

The top gauge is for backpressure or drive pressure, it started leaking so its unplugged, first red gauge is boost, 2nd number is IAT's and they stop at 225 deg F.

You are correct, 22 psi, which is with WATF, WMO and RUG combo, I just put some diesel and jet fuel in, only 16 psi.

Guess I'll keep my project alive here.

Still burning waste oils, have put open faced injectors in set at 2500 psi, and they don't coke up as bad. Now burning half a tank of WMO and half Jet fuel.

Installed a brand new IP and did my version of the FTB.

Installed a Dmax van fuel pump and filter system.

Fixed my annoying passenger side exhaust leak, will fix the other side one day but its not leaking right now.

Installed an oil filter bypass setup, tired of changing my oil, :mad2: :rof:

I have a GEP short block to pick up, going to go thru it and run gapless rings, port some 6.5 heads and look into coatings for the precup and piston tops.

Bought a new billet compressor wheel to try out.
