Fan Envy

Just did some spirited driving up some steep hills and lots of idling, didn't skip a beat and never ran hot-before it would get a tad hot after lots of WOT on hill climbs, lots more oomph up the hills. I'll be towing my enclosed trailer in a few weeks so that will be the test but it never ran hot anyway.
 
Franko, Your thread on your conversion was on the old site. How did your fan setup workout for you ?

It worked great, much better than I expected, especially after I replaced the 12 "Heavy Duty" Bosch-type relays with "continuous duty" real ones (see attached pic). On a warm summer day, in NYC traffic, one fan was enough to drop the coolant temperature enough to turn off the thermostatic relay. I would imagine that both fans would be needed when placing load on the engine.

Again, the in-the-radiatorfins'-face electric fans do not have to move as much air as the belt driven ones because of the efficiency in their design. A 10,000 cfm belt-driven fan is needed because of the "leaks" around the open metal blades, whereas a 6,000 cfm dual-electric fan setup might be all that is needed, even under load.

Still working awesome and still running cooler than before. Need to hook my a/c up to the fans, can't use it in town, whoops. ):h
