Is it possible to remove the spin on fan clutch without removing the radiator?

It's been awhile....How do I lock up the pulley to spin off the fan clutch? I see small holes in the pulley. Do I shove in like a short screw driver and lock it up against the water pump?
On my Jeep (same type of thing), (my truck has the bolt on unit), there is a special thin wrench you buy, its about 25 bucks from napa. Put it on and give it a quick tap with the hammer it will spin right off..
Does this "thin wrench" lock into the four holes of the pulley? If so then I would also need a wrench on the fan clutch nut.
BTW, Chief915...you had mentioned being a Mil Mechanic and working on Humvees...I would love to see some detailed pics of the clutch setup they use. I was told it's hydraulic but I have never seen it. Can they be engaged manually ? Serp belt or V ?? CW or CCW ?
Yes on both accounts. You will end up using two wrenches at the same time, one that holds the pulley still and the other grabs the fan clutch and loosens it.

Is that a Kent Moore tool ? I'm trying to picture what it would look like What does it use like 3 of the give holes or something ? Sort of U shaped ?
BTW saw that tool Chief was talking about. it's called a fan clutch spanner wrench. Lisle makes one for about 40$ but Snap On listed a special one for the 48mm nut clutch and it was 115$. Not sure if the Lisle one is the same. Wouldn't mind picking one up. Might have worked on that one in the picks.
