Failed inspection

I failed my first inspection here in TX because of headlight. My fault, did not check it before. The burb was owned by fire dept., so they rigged up the light and when they took it out, they have not hooked up the passenger side headlight. I found that out later at home. Good thing it was an easy fix.

There is no emission inspection for diesel above 8600 lbs GVWR in TX. The gasser have OBD-II emission inspection which is terrible for most GM cars and trucks because their emission stuff are not that reliable. This is based on experience from a friend's 2001 Suburban 5.3L. Too many codes and when we fixed one code, another one show up.

Chevylover(Sven) can prob verify it as myth or truth.
Seems rather mythical to me.

Thanks Bison, but I know better than to try to throw a myth out there to this august group and try pass it off as truth...too much respect for you and everyone else. Or were you refering to my having to take off my shoes to get the answer?

But by all means, PM Sven and ask him, its good to know just how well off we are on this side of the pond.

Guybb3, yes that's the SF motto, thanks for asking.

Okay, guys. You asked, here's the answer :

1. the most expensive place to buy oil is at a gas station
2. the most expensive size is ONE liter
3. this oil is not sold anymore here.
4. you can get Castrol Edge TurboDiesel 0W-30 @ around 8-15 Euro per liter
depending where you buy and how much you buy.
5. the pic is for real, cauz a few years ago, these oils has been much more expensive than today.

Everything clear now ?

HOLY Sh"t that aint funny.
Thanks Sven for clearing that up.

Sorry PAVOLTZ,i did'nt know they would be that greedy up across the pond.
i'm sure glad i dont live there no more.

Ya sure, universal health care is EXPENSIVE! Find out how much of their fuel / oil cost is TAXES!

Inspections... Good Old days...Cheap hot rods and cheap gas (and cheap beer, cigs, low taxes, and no AIDS).
I preferred the '70's. When the Socialist Republik of California started to require NOX devices and tailpipe inspections, I had my '69 Dart GT (383 4bbl 4sp 2dr) inspected at a known "hot rod" shop. The deal was; if it could pass the tailpipe test, the equipment didn't matter...
My engine was so well tuned, so efficient, it burned cleaner than my mother's brand new factory smog equipped Polara. Her engine had so many smog hoses on it, is was almost impossible to see the engine.

God, I miss that car; I traded it in on a new Mach 1 with a 302 and an (augh!) Automatic trans! POS.

There might come a time we all ride hayburners again,
Oh damn, prob gonna need a permit to shit on the street.
Ah the good old days:thumbsup:
times where diff then, growing up till i married,i had no care in the world,no money either):h

More than 3/4 of the fuel price are taxes, fuel tax and sales tax !
Now you all know and (I hope) you'll understand, why it is a wish to leave this country. But it isn't so easy with family (wife and daughter) wihtout any work permit/green card, money on the bank, etc.

If alone, I left years ago, but..... the hope dies last. Perhaps someday, there'll be a chance.

Cu,
Sven
