Hi!
First post at this forum.
I live in Sweden and yesterday I bougt a Chevrolet pick up. I know very little about it but it is a Cheyenne and locks like this one (not mine) http://forum.snowrider.se/uploads/20071201_051129_liten_cheva.JPG
It´s a C2500 or K2500 (whats the difference?) with a 6.5 td engine and it is built in 1995 and has 162000 km (a bit over 100000 miles). It is equipped with a reiforced th400 transmission without lock-up. Thats about all I know about it.
The problem is that it won't start. It seems that it doesn´t get any fuel to the injectors. The lift pump works and diesel pours out when the bleeder valve is opened. The fuels shut off valve seems to work (it clicks when the ignition is turned on/off).
The previous owner (my neighbour) had problems with it before it stopped running and according to the repair shop it was the PMD that time so he bougt a new one. Then it worked fine for a couple of hundred miles but then it could just stop. The engine did not hesitate or something like that it just stopped and after a while it started again. The PMD is tested on another vehicle and is working fine.
Unfortunatly we only have low sulfer diesel here in Sweden and from what I have read that might be the best thing to ruin the IP so I am already prepared to change the IP but I wonder if there is somthing I should test before I order a new one.
I'm thinking of buying a rebuilt unit with new PMDfrom DCP, Diesel Care and Performance, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/6-5-...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories. I'm also considering to buy that extension harness and cooler to relocate the PMD.
Any thoughts about that?
Is it difficult to rebuild a IP?
Is there any repair manual online for these engines?
